Crowdsourcing: What You Need to Know

There are conversations happening all over the country about the future of education. We have seen amazing Twitter threads, podcasts and webinars, virtual education summits and Facebook groups; all critical and relevant conversation. But what’s hard to determine from all of this is what are the best ideas and most relevant opportunities for education right now.

Crowdsourcing allows a large crowd of people to share ideas and solutions around critical questions regarding education, ensuring diverse perspectives to circulate and influence the ideas. The process allows for school leaders to best ascertain the needs and concerns of their various constituents--students, educators, and families--with unrivaled speed and efficiency , helping them to make critical decisions on where they should devote their  energy and allocate critical resources.

As a Strategic Partner of the Pivot Education campaign, InnovateK12 brings critical experience in crowdsourcing, as our primary work is with districts to create a culture of innovation by engaging stakeholders in strategic initiatives using a process that includes crowdsourcing ideas and solutions.

In the case of the Pivot Education campaign, crowdsourcing will allow for a large crowd of people to share ideas and solutions around critical questions regarding education, ensuring diverse perspectives to circulate and influence the ideas. This divergent thinking can produce unique insight to problems, creative solutions, and innovative opportunities that otherwise might be lost.
